I love that word ‘enrichment’. It’s so important for our dogs so I’m always on the hunt for new toys and games that Amber and the other dogs I take care of can play with. Our new favourite is the rainbow-coloured snuffle ball.

The idea is that you fill the folds with kibble or treats and the pups have great fun snuffling to get the reward. Amber always wants what I’m eating so I’ve found this is a great distraction tool too! It encourages natural foraging skills and can be useful for anxiety and stress relief. If I have a nervous dog to take care of and they are clearly missing their owner, this really helps. You can buy it here https://amzn.eu/d/7sJEQ0Q
Another favourite item, especially for the hot weather is our doggie paddling pool. I love the vibrant, lime-green!

It’s the perfect size for small to medium dogs and it’s so lovely watching them splash around in it. I throw balls in for them to retrieve which usually results in there being more water around the pool than inside the pool but that’s okay – the garden then gets a watering too! Finally, a more robust LickiMat as not every dog we meet is a gentle chewer. We add Peamutt Butter (dog-safe peanut butter) or natural yoghurt, mashed banana or sweet potato. It helps dogs to slow down, focus and be challenged. The act of repeatedly licking is also very soothing and calming for our little pups.

So there you go, three of my latest enrichment ideas to get your dog’s tail wagging and ensure they go to bed, one happy pup.
